About our school

Pasaréti High School was established in 1995 with the permission of the Capital City Council on the basis of the curriculum taylor-made by ELTE University. Pasaréti High School is operated as the training school of ELTE University. The education is organized in four, six and eight-year long curriculum, with 10 to 15 students in each class. Foreign languages are taught in an increased number of lessons. After the eighth grade a special language preparation class can be chosen of which aim is to enable students to master the English language. From ninth grade a certain part of the school curriculum can be learnt in English within the framework of our bilingual programme.

The main aim of the school’s educational work is to provide the students with a strong base concerning their specialised subjects. Besides,  the students are prepared for their further college and university studies. We put a special emphasis on teaching modern languages at the highest possible level (English, German, Italian, French, Spanish and Russian). To establish the students’ art and scientific education we try to do our best to convey classical moral values. Our school also considers practical skills and knowledge very important therefore students take IT lessons until the end of their studies (Windows, Microsoft Office, Web-editing).

In the last two years before the school leaving examination the school offers the following specialised classes to help the students to prepare for their college and university studies: Mathemetics, Hungarian Language and Literature, History, Media and Cinematographic Art, Psychology, Carrier Orientation, Foreigh Languages, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History of Art, and Drawing.

The consistent pedagogical work helps to fulfil and achieve the above mentioned educational aims. Our best students are awarded (Pasaréti Cup, books, diplomas). The school has high but clear and executable requirements for the students, their results and achievements are constantly monitored and our school regularly informs the parents. The continuous and efficient relationship with the parents is considered to be significantly important by the school management. The form teachers have a major responsibility to achieve this.

We offer a wide range of extra-curriculum activities for our students: study groups, workshops to help the talented students, to prepare them for competitions, to train and help weaker students, to offer exam preparation courses, sports trainings (soccer, basketball, swimming, tennis). Our school regularly organizes inland and foreign trips, educational and sports camps.
Our teachers are dynamic and highly qualified young teachers with several years of experience with both elementary and high school teaching practice. Students applying to our school do not need to take an entrance exam, admittance to our school depends on the students’ results.

The financial background of the operation of our school is supported by foundation donations.
